The Sweet Life

Everybody wonders what it would be like to do the things they want to do, but just more often. For me, it's drive faster cars, more often, in more places. For my girlfriend, it's travel more places, more often. For both of us, we'd like to expand our palate more, at more restaurants, in more exotic destinations.

Are any of these things stuff you can relate to wanting more of?

Well, the sweet life comes at a cost. As much as you want to believe that living on a budget while backpacking Europe or the Chilean Andes is a feasible thing, it really isn't for most people. I don't know about you, but I prefer taking a shower more times throughout the week than not.

"Well, how do all of these people on Instagram get to do it?" - The answer? Their parents! If you think that they magically get to travel because they simply want to, you are simply mistaken. They tricked you into thinking that money doesn't matter for them. But it does.

So, if you can come to terms with that and simply say to yourself, "ok, I'm going to make the money and do it too", than you are already off on the right foot. But, now, how do you actually do it?

Simple!

Find a skill you are good at, and offer those skills to people for a fee!

"But I don't really have any skills I could sell to people!" - Wrong!

You have some skill.. It could be baby-sitting on the weekends. You can find jobs easily by signing up at care.com. Maybe you want to be outside and work with your hand? Grab a car washing kit, put on some board shorts, a shirt that can get wet, and go door to door offering at-home car washing/detailing services.
If you were able to work a few weekends per month and put away an extra $300-$500 a month, you could easily try more exotic restaurants, take a few more weekend trips, and buy those race car experiences that you wish for.

Whatever you end up doing, the point of this post is to let you know that you have options. You still have to do some work on your end. Just by coming here, and just by taking even one course to learn just one more new skill, you have come 100x closer to living your life the way you want to live it. More awesome food. More awesome traveling destinations. More of everything that you wanted. In a very short amount of time, you could be living the sweet life.
